Pianist George Winston Coming to The Lincoln Theatre, 4/17

Inspired by the seasons and topographies, George Winston's concerts feature a variety of styles including melodic folk piano, New Orleans R&B piano, and stride piano. This concert will feature Winston's 'Winter Show,' which will include melodic fall and winter type songs, some of Vince Guaraldi's Peanuts pieces, works inspired by the New Orleans piano and stride piano traditions, and songs from his upcoming album, Spring Carousel - A Cancer Research Benefit, scheduled for release in 2016.

Curran, Jesse Geguzis, Emma Grimsley, Conor Guzman, Adam La Faci, Thia Stephan, and Rocky Vega.

GEORGE WINSTON, one of the most recognized solo pianists in the world, will perform at the Greenwich Odeum Theater tonight, October 30th at 8:00 P.M. Tickets are $39.00 and $49.00. The venue is located at 59 Main Street, East Greenwich. For more information call 401-885-4000 or visit http://theodeum.org/. Since 1986, George has been raising money for food banks and service organizations and will continue to do so by working with a local food bank in every tour market to hold a canned food drive at the show and also by donating 100% of proceeds from the sale of his merchandise to the organization. The food bank for this show is the EAST GREENWICH INTERFAITH FOOD CUPBOARD.

Houston, August 17, 2015—Houston Grand Opera's (HGO) 2015–16 season showcases the vibrant and diverse artistic mix that marks HGO as a leading 21st-century American opera company: Wagner's Siegfried, the third installment of La Fura dels Baus's imaginative Ring cycle featuring a new generation of Wagnerians; the world premiere of Prince of Players by eminent American composer Carlisle Floyd, the Lynn Wyatt Great Artist for 2015–16; Dvoák's fairy tale rarity Rusalka; a holiday revival of family favorite The Little Prince from the award-winning composer Rachel Portman and librettist Nicholas Wright; a new production of The Marriage of Figaro; a new-to-Houston Eugene Onegin; a beloved core production, Tosca; and the Houston debut of Broadway sensation Rob Ashford's take on the classic musical Carousel. Through its community collaboration program HGOco, the company will present two additional world premieres: O Columbia, a chamber opera by composer Gregory Spears and librettist Royce Vavrek that examines the past, present, and future of the American spirit of exploration; and The Root of the Wind is Water, a chamber opera by composer David Hanlon and librettist Stephanie Fleischmann about the impact of hurricanes on the Texas Gulf coast.
