Broadway In Chicago has announced the two award recipients from the Second Annual Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards: John Clay III from Oak Park, Ill. Coming to the Mahalia Jackson Theater on January 8 is the national tour of the hit show JERSEY BOYS, which allows audiences a close up look at Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons' rise to stardom. The show features hit songs "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," and "Walk Like a Man." I recently spoke with Jason Kappus, who plays Four Seasons member Bob Gaudio, about the show, the music, and life on tour.

It's always hard for me to come up with the best of anything in entertainment. With my backstage theatre background, I'm obsessed with detail, and I can't simply sit back and enjoy any show. As a writer, I'm obsessed with the words, the sentence, the grammar, etc., and I can never read strictly for pleasure. In the pressure cooker of coming up with the best picks for 2012, I have a mixed pot.

Uscher is pleased to announce the annual event raised more than $500,000 for the Cornish Scholarship Fund. The total includes $105,000 for the Sherry Raisbeck Endowed Scholarship, an endowment created last year by James Raisbeck in honor of his wife, a Cornish graduate and member of the Board of Trustees.
