Author Sherry D. Koehn sets out to lead readers closer to salvation and reminds them that they are not alone in their suffering in her inspirational new nonfiction, "The Lord's Book: His Guide through the Winds of Life" (published by CrossBooks).

Koehn found the inspiration for "The Lord's Book" after praying the chorus for the Brandon Heath song "Give Me Your Eyes". People began approaching her at church, work and even store checkout lines to pour their pain and suffering out to her. Recognizing that the Lord was sending her a message to go out and help others, she set out to write this book.

"The Lord's Book" is meant to inspire, encourage and uplift readers who may be feeling distant from God and as though they're walking alone on the path of life. Koehn is quick to point out all of the joys there are to experience in the world, and that even Christians experience pain and sorrow.

Koehn also shares the details of her own spiritual journey, which includes depression, fear, loss, drugs, divorce and even the consequences of leaving the Jehovah's Witness religion. "There is hope, true joy and happiness," she writes. "Christ's joy and happiness can be found even though life is hard and this world is so full of sin."
