Northlight Theatre Announces 2010-11 Season

Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans are proud to announce the 2010-11 Northlight Season, which includes Daddy Long Legs, the new musical from the director of Les Miserables and the creators of Jane Eyre; Paula Vogel's holiday production for all ages and faiths, A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration; Eclipsed, Danai Gurira's play about five Liberian women whose lives have been upturned by civil war; Jon Jory's world premiere adaptation of Jane Austen's classic Sense and Sensibility; and The Outgoing Tide, a new play by Bruce Graham to be directed by BJ Jones and feature John Mahoney.
Broadway League Announces 2010 'League Educator Apple Awards' Recipients

The Broadway League, the national trade organization for the commercial theatre industry, announced the 2010 'League Educator Apple Awards' recipients. The awards acknowledge the efforts of local schools and community groups that support programs relating to Broadway or touring Broadway shows, promoting further development of theatre education.
LES MIZ Tour to Hit U.S. in 2011 Following Barbican Theatre Run this Fall

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Cameron Mackintosh's current touring production of Les Miserables, which is making its way around the U.K., is set to return to a familiar home this fall in celebration of the show's 25th anniversary. The production will run at London's Barbican Theatre, it's English-language birthplace in 1985, for 22 performances, September 14 through October 2, 2010. A Queens Theatre staple for nearly 22 years in the West End, this new run will mark the first time in London that the same musical has run simultaneously.

The eighth annual final of the Principality Building Society Welsh Young Musical Theatre Singer Of The Year contest was held at the Swansea Grand Theatre on Saturday February 20. The closely fought contest was adjudicated by an panel of judges consisting of eminent director and drama teacher Ken Caswell, vocal coach Tim Richards, Tim Rhys Evans (musical director of the internationally acclaimed male choir, Only Men Aloud, winners of BBC's Last Choir Standing) and Claire Hammacott (whose West End credits include Les Miserables and Christine in Phantom Of The Opera).

The Papermill Playhouse in New Jersey has announced their 2010 - 2011 season, BroadwayWorld has learned. The all-musical season will include productions of Hairspray, the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Curtains, and Les Miserables in a newly conceived production.

Cincinnati Young People's Theatre has announced audition dates for its 2010 summer musical, Les Miserables. Auditions will take place May 8th-10th at Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, 4990 Glenway Avenue. Auditions are by appointment only and can be set up as early as Monday, March 15, 2010. Reunion of Les Miserables Canadian Casts Planned for June 2010

Les Miserables is widely regarded as one of the most popular and successful musicals of all-time. It was the third longest running show on Broadway and has had over 9,500 performances in London's West End. Throughout the years, there have been many successful Canadian Productions of the hit show, and some alumni have come together to attempt to organize a reunion for June 2010 to bring together everyone who was ever part of the Canadian Les Mis family. BWW will be on hand to cover the big event and has also agreed to lend a hand in spreading the word, in the hopes that as many people as possible will be able to attend.
