La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast of its world-premiere musical Limelight: The Story of Charlie Chaplin, music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis, book by Christopher Curtis and Thomas Meehan and directed by Michael Unger, running September 7 - October 17, 2010 (media night: Sunday, September 19 at 7:00 pm) in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.

This will be a reunion for Dodd and Mauzey in their roles as Elphaba and Glinda respectively, and will mark the first time the two actresses are back on stage opposite each other since they played the roles on Broadway from November 2008 - February 2009. The actresses will take a final bow with WICKED when it closes on September 5, 2010.

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra recently announced that Tony Award-winning actress and singer, Idina Menzel will make her Cincinnati Pops debut at Music Hall for the Orchestra's 2010-11 season opener on September 24, 25 and 26, performing diverse repertoire of classic pop, musical theater favorites (including hits from Wicked and Rent) as well as songs from her album, I Stand. Bernadette Peters was initially scheduled for the Pops opening concert, but is now scheduled to open the following Pops season, Sept. 16-18, 2011 in Music Hall.

Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts Theaterfest is pleased to present the American Premiere of My Fairytale, a musical about Hans Christian Andersen. The musical is composed by Stephen Schwartz, the award-winning composer of Godspell, Pippin and Wicked, and will be presented in time for the 2011 centennial celebration of Solvang, CA as a Danish-American community. This exclusive engagement will preview in Santa Maria's Marian Theatre August 12 - 19, 2011, then open under the stars in the Solvang Festival Theater August 26, playing through September 25, 2011.

The San Francisco production of the smash hit musical WICKED will play its final performance on Sunday, September 5, 2010, ending its record-breaking run at the Orpheum Theatre. This past weekend, Cincinnati had the chance to see two divas for the price of one as Broadway stars Julia Murney and Megan Hilty stepped in to replace Kristin Chenoweth, who was forced to cancel her engagement with the Cincinnati Pops on November 13th, 14th, and 15th, due to illness. Under the direction of Steven Reineke, the format was reworked into an evening in honor of divas from pop music, opera, and Broadway.

Megan Hilty, most recently seen on Broadway's production of '9 to 5 The Musical', will be present at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton on October 15 to perform songs from the Tony Award winning musical'Wicked'. Hilty appeared as Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, in the New York and Los Angeles production, as well as on the National tour of the show.
