It was announced this week that two-time Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick, will star as the narrator in FOX's live musical event, A CHRISTMAS STORY LIVE! As the narrator, Broderick will play the grown-up 'Ralphie Parker,' who looks back with love and humor on his favorite childhood Christmas.

Broadway legend Andrew Lloyd Webber is excited to announce casting has been finalized for the national tour of his high-octane Broadway and West End hit School of Rock The Musical! School of Rock The Musical is produced on Broadway by Andrew Lloyd Webber for The Really Useful Group, Warner Music Group & Access Industries, The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization. Nina Lannan and Madeleine Lloyd Webber serve as Executive Producers.

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts has announced that the first U.S. National tour of the hit musical THE BODYGUARD, will play Reynolds Hall from Tuesday, Nov. 21 to Sunday, Nov. 26. Tickets go on sale next Friday, Sept. 29.

ELF The Musical will play at Morrison Center on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM, 3:00 PM, & 8:00 PM.

Joining the previously announced cast, Kevin Kennedy (Coronation Street) stars as Fergus and Rachael Wooding (We Will Rock You) appears as Joanne, alongside Jonathan Halliwell (Let It Shine) as Paul and Chloe Hart (Hairspray) as Val. Alan will be played by Neil Hurst, one of dozens of Yorkshiremen who applied for the role through an open audition call.

Joe Pasquale will star as the loveable but accident-prone Frank Spencer in the first ever stage production of the classic 1970s TV comedy, SOME MOTHERS DO 'AVE 'EM.

BroadwayWorld is sad to report that Thomas Meehan, who is best known for his books of such classics as Annie, The Producers and Hairspray, passed away yesterday, August 21, 2017. He was 88 years old.

The Hollywood Bowl's production of Mamma Mia! begins tonight, July 28, at 8 PM and continues Saturday, July 29, at 8 PM and Sunday, July 30, at 7:30 PM.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Broadway smash hit School of Rock - The Musical has recouped its entire investment on Broadway, making the show an undisputed hit simultaneously on Broadway and the West End.

Golden Globe, Critics' Choice, Teen Choice nominee, Imagen Award winner and Broadway actor Jaime Camil, of CW's Jane the Virgin, has been announced for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Mamma Mia!, the 2001 international phenomenon which will be this summer's annual staged musical at the Bowl. Camil will play the role of Sam Carmichael.

Multi-award winning Foothill Music Theatre will give Bay Area audiences their first look at the 2014 revised version of the acclaimed Broadway musical Side Show. This dazzling work, featuring music by Henry Krieger (Dreamgirls), and book/lyrics by Bill Russell (Pageant, Lucky Duck), was nominated for four 1998 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book, and Best Actress. The 2014 revival, which incorporates a revised script and several new songs, received additional critical acclaim, was nominated for five Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Revival, and was awarded the 2015 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Musical. Side Show is based on the true story of Daisy and Violet Hilton, conjoined twins who rose from a sideshow attraction to become sensational vaudeville stars in the 1930s. Grant Almirall, star of SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, joins the superb cast of the Fugard Theatre's smash hit musical, WEST SIDE STORY, at the Joburg Theatre until 5 March 2017.
