Put on your 'Boogie Shoes' for Saturday Night Fever, one of the most loved dance stories of all time is opening up at the Ivoryton Playhouse on August 9th! The year is 1979 and in Brooklyn, New York, Tony Manero, a young man with a dead-end job and an extraordinary ability to dance, has only one ambition in life - to become the disco king. When he meets Stephanie, who also dreams of a world beyond Brooklyn, they decide to train together for a dance competition and their lives begin to change forever. Based on the 1977 film that became a cultural phenomenon, the electrifying score is packed with legendary hits from the Bee Gees including the classics: 'Stayin' Alive,' 'Night Fever,' 'Jive Talking,' 'You Should Be Dancing' and 'How Deep is Your Love?'

Casting Announced for HAIR: THE AMERICAN TRIBAL LOVE-ROCK MUSICAL

Mercury Theater Chicago, 3745 N. Southport Avenue - is pleased to announce the cast of HAIR: THE AMERICAN TRIBAL LOVE-ROCK MUSICAL, playing from July 27 through September 17. Press opening is Thursday, August 3rd at 8:00pm. A celebration of 50 years since the 1967 "Summer of Love", HAIR will inspire audiences to "let the sun shine in" and stand up for what they believe in. This rousing rock musical will be led by Jeff Award Winners Brenda Didier (Director) and Eugene Dizon (Musical Director) with choreography by Christopher Carter.  A talented cast of Chicago artists featuring Matt Keffer and Liam Quealy will take the stage in this celebration of love, life, and freedom.

Prince's REVOLUTION Expand North American Tour

After a stunning response to the surprise announcement of their first tour in decades, The Revolution have now confirmed plans for an extensive North American tour.  The reunion, which began as just six dates, including a special show at Paisley Park for Celebration 2017, quickly expanded even further when demand made it necessary to add second shows in Chicago, New York and Philadelphia.  Now, the quintet are set to bring their exciting new show to the rest of the U.S. with additional dates that bring the band through the midwest and on to the west coast.  The current itinerary ends on July 15th in Seattle, with even more dates expected to be announced soon.

Chicago Opera Theater Presents THE INVENTION OF MOREL, Today

Chicago Opera Theater (COT) presents "The Invention of Morel," a world premiere of the co-commissioned opera composed by Stewart Copeland, co-founder and drummer of The Police. Based on Argentinian author Adolfo Bioy Casares' 1940 novel "La invencion de Morel," Copeland's new adaptation examines the triumph of time-bending love over convention in a story of adoration and desire. "The Invention of Morel" features London-based actor, director and writer Jonathan Moore as Stage Director/Librettist together with COT's Artistic Director Andreas Mitisek as Conductor. The press performance will be February 18 at 7:30 p.m. Subsequent performances will be February 24 at 7:30 p.m.and February 26 at 3 p.m.

Following last week's surprise announcement by The Revolution of only four dates, the immediate response from fans has been astounding. The New York show sold-out in less than an hour and now, second shows have been confirmed in New York, Chicago and Philadelphia and are on-sale today. The Revolution are planning a nationwide tour throughout 2017, additional cities and dates to be announced.
