Canadian Stage is proud to partner with Vancouver's Electric Company Theatre to bring a fascinating production of Studies in Motion: The Hauntings of Eadweard Muybridge to Toronto audiences. The show is a visually and physically explosive spectacle, drawn from the life and work of 19th century photographer Eadweard Muybridge. Directed by 2010 Siminovitch Theatre Award-winner Kim Collier, written by Governor General Award-winning dramatist Kevin Kerr and choreographed by the Dora Mavor Moore Award-winner Crystal Pite, the production is on stage from November 22 to December 18 (media night: November 25) at the Bluma Appel Theatre, 27 Front Street East, Toronto. Piven Theatre Workshop extends its 2009-10 season with the Chicago premiere of Sarah Ruhl's adaptation of Chekov's Three Sisters, directed by Artistic Director Emeritus Joyce Piven. The production will run October 16 - November 21, 2010 at Piven Theatre Workshop, 927 Noyes Street

CAPA today announced its season lineup for 2010-11. Highlights include the return of Columbus' favorite saxophonist extraordinaire, Dave Koz, and the ever-popular, riotous comedy of The Second City. Columbus debuts include acoustic guitarist Benise who brings his lavish stage production, The Spanish Guitar, to the Palace Theatre; DRUMLINE LIVE,a show-style marching band showcase based on the film Drumline; and world-renowned, contemporary ballet company, Complexions.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater presents the world premiere of Marcus Gardley's every tongue confess, which opens the new Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle, the third theater space in the Mead Center. Director Kenny Leon Broadway's Fences and last season's Stick Fly at Arena Stage leads an ensemble cast featuring talent from across the country, including Tony Award-winner Phylicia Rashad teamed up with Jason Dirden, Crystal Fox, Autumn Hurlbert, Jim Ireland, Leslie Kritzer, Eugene Lee, E. Described by Stephen King as 'the quintessential ghost story,' The Turn of the Screw was originally published in serialized form and eventually became one of Henry James' most famous works. The Turn of the Screw tells the story of an inexperienced governess left to care for two orphaned children at an isolated mansion in the English countryside. Shortly after her arrival, the governess begins to see visions of two malicious ghosts who seem determined to posses the innocents in her care. Resolved to save the children, she struggles to unravel the mystery of the ghosts' motives and discover the key to destroying their power.

Described by Stephen King as 'the quintessential ghost story,' The Turn of the Screw was originally published in serialized form and eventually became one of James' most famous works. James added a new spin to the traditional ghost story by writing it entirely from the governess' perspective, leaving the reader to interpret her account's accuracy and truthfulness. More than a century later, critical debate rages on over the nature of the ghosts, the complicity of the children, and the sanity of the governess.
