During his last 21 years of sobriety, Freddy sought spiritual redemption, practiced forgiveness and made amends in his daily life; he came to lead by example with the aid of his higher power Jesus Christ. Freddy Fender was known to millions of people across the world as 'an ordinary man who had extraordinary God-given talents.'

A Noise Within (ANW) presents A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, directed by Gregg T. Daniel, the sixth production of its 26th season performing February 25 to April 8 (Press Opening March 3). Now added - three performances - Wednesday, March 14 at 7:30 pm, Wednesday March 29 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, April 8 at 7 pm.

Adding to his accolade of smash singles, British DJ, producer and songwriterSIGALA teams up with Brit Award winner Paloma Faith to kick-start 2018 with their collaborative track 'Lullaby,' out now on Ministry of Sound/Columbia Records/Ultra Music.

Tulsa Ballet, under the artistic direction of Marcello Angelini, will return to The Joyce Theater with a program of works created specifically for the company, including Glass Figures, a world premiere by Resident Choreographer Ma Cong, from March 6-10. Returning to NYC for the first time since 2009, the company will also perform Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's Shibuya Blues and Helen Pickett's Meoal (Among).

PITTSBURGH CLO is pleased to welcome a collection of writing teams from across the country to Pittsburgh for the inaugural SPARK festival in March. These teams were chosen from a highly-selective submissions process and will have the opportunity to rehearse and revise their work in residencies ranging from two days to three weeks. SPARK will provide dramaturgy and production resources to 10 new musicals at all stages of development, in addition to the world premiere of UP AND AWAY. As a part of the development period, eight of the musicals will receive public presentations through which the writing teams can gather audience insights and focus their intentions for the next phase of development. A major initiative of Pittsburgh CLO's recently completed Next Generation Capital Campaign, SPARK is designed to cultivate new and innovative work from emerging and established musical theater artists. 

A rotating exhibition of local student artwork at Broward County's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, En Plane Air, unveiled its fourth installment on January 30th. Highlighting the diverse talents of Broward County students, the exhibition features artwork created by 6- to 10-year-old attendees of the Roosevelt Gardens Park summer camp in the Broward Municipal Services District.

A new play based on the fiction of Nobel Prize-winning writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez, NO ONE WRITES TO THE COLONEL ( El Colonel No Tiene Quien Le Escriba ) will be given its world premiere production by New York City's celebrated repertory company, REPERTORIO ESPANOL (138 E. 27 St.).

Washington National Opera (WNO) presents the sixth season of its acclaimed American Opera Initiative, a comprehensive commissioning program that brings contemporary American stories to the stage while fostering the talents of rising American composers and librettists. All of the program's world premiere operas are presented during the American Opera Initiative Festival weekend,January 19 21, 2018, all in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. The festival begins with the world premiere of a new hour-long work by composer Missy Mazzoli and librettist Royce Vavrek, Proving Up, on January 19 and 21, 2018, directed by Alison Moritz and conducted by Christopher Rountree, both in their WNO debuts. Three new pairings of opera composers and librettists Nathan Fletcher and Megan Cohen, Gity Razaz and Sara Cooper, John Glover and Erin Bregman offer new, one-act operas during the festival. Two semi-staged concert performances of each 20-minute opera are presented on January 20, 2018.

For its annual winter engagement, The Joffrey Ballet presents Modern Masters, a mixed repertory program showcasing works by ballet's most celebrated contemporary icons along with today's top emerging choreographers, including the world premiere of Beyond the Shore by Joffrey Ballet Master Nicolas Blanc, the Chicago premiere of Glass Pieces by Jerome Robbins in honor of the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Joffrey premiere of The Four Temperaments by George Balanchine, plus the return of Body of Your Dreams by Myles Thatcher. Modern Masters is presented in 10 performances only, February 7 18, 2018.

EL COLONEL NO TIENE QUIEN LE ESCRIBA ( No One Writes to the Colonel ), a world premiere play based on the fiction of the Nobel Prize winning Colombian novelist Gabriel Garc a M rquez, will debut this winter at Repertorio Espa ol (138 E. 27 St. in Manhattan) with previews beginning February 23 prior to an official press opening on February 27, it has been announced by Robert Federico, Executive Producer of Repertorio Espa ol, which is now celebrating its 50th season as one of Off-Broadway's longest-running, continuous theatres, and the ONLY company that presents Spanish-language/English translated (simultext) plays in NYC.

Tennessee Shakespeare Company, now celebrating its Tenth Anniversary Season as the Mid-South's professional, classical theatre and education organization, will stage Samuel Beckett's tragicomedy, Waiting for Godot, at Dixon Gallery & Gardens from December 7-17.

Elvis Presley's Graceland has announced the launch of Graceland Excursions, offering unprecedented music and entertainment day-trip experiences, as guests tour like the King of Rock 'n' Roll in a luxury motorcoach. Graceland has custom-designed these interactive music adventures to serve as the ideal complement to the Graceland Mansion experience in Memphis, Tennessee. Initial tours will include trips to Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis Presley's birthplace, and the Mississippi Delta region -- known as the Birthplace of the Blues. The luxury coach ride to and from each destination will be a big part of the experience, as Graceland tour guides and Archives staff take guests on a fun musical journey, celebrating the music that influenced Elvis Presley and exploring the genres that still inspire today's most popular performers. On Sunday afternoon, November 19, Copland House will present Heaven, Hell, and Hollywood, a musical journey into the legendary community of artistic exiles in World War II-era Los Angeles. The concert features the internationally-acclaimed Music from Copland House ensemble, hailed by The New Yorker as 'bold, adventurous, and superb,' and takes place at the historic Merestead estate in Mount Kisco at 3pm. A meet-the-artist reception follows immediately afterwards.
