Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) has announced this year’s recipients of their annual Awards, honoring playwrights, composers, lyricists, and librettists who show promise in their writing to invest in the future of theater through their stories.

This is the world of Vapor Vespers, the edge- and button-pushing transcontinental collaboration between acclaimed NYC & Hudson Valley-based multi-instrumentalist Sal Cataldi (aka Spaghetti Eastern Music) and Alaskan playwright, actor and slam poet Mark Muro.

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts today announced artistic works celebrating iconic civil rights leaders, accessibility in the arts, and the rich history of dance in New York City coming to Restart Stages this September—the outdoor performing arts center created to champion the revival and recovery of New York City arts.

SLAC's 50th Season, dedicated to its patrons and supporters with the theme, 'Community Over Everything,' opens with the long-awaited world premiere of Elaine Jarvik's Four Women Talking About the Man Under the Sheet. A 2020 Kilroys Honoree, the meta, semi-historical piece was originally set to open March 13, 2020, but instead shut down on March 12th due to the pandemic.

Moonbox Productions has announced its theatrical line up for the 2021-2022 season.  In October, Moonbox kicks-off its season with Richard O’Brien’s hilarious cult classic, The Rocky Horror Show, followed in December by the Tony nominated comedy-drama rock musical, Passing Strange.

Katastro will celebrate the release of Sucker with a string of West Coast headlining tour dates beginning July 23rd with a hometown show in Tempe, Arizona. 

It was just announced by the Pulitzer Prize organization that Katori Hall's The Hot Wing King has officially won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This year's finalists included Circle Jerk by Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley and Stew by Zora Howard.

Sucker, the band’s sixth full-length studio album, represents a notably more mature sound for Katastro – Andy Chaves [vocals], Andrew Stravers [drums], Tanner Riccio [guitar] and Ryan Weddle [bass] – while showcasing their unique melting pot stew of rock, hip-hop, funk, blues, pop, and reggae.

Next up on my local artists interview segment is *drum roll please*.... theatremaker and cabaret artist Olivia Brand. Olivia is a member of Chance Collective, which is also made up of Victoria Barlow, Siobhan Gibbs, Milly Walker, and our inter-state artist, Honor-Webster Mannison. They have been working together for over four years, developing theatre works, interactive experiences, children's experiences, and cabaret shows. For her Los Angeles Opera Signature Recital, mezzo-soprano Susan Graham, accompanied by Jeremy Frank, sings a collection of her favorite songs. They perform works  by 20th-century composer Kurt Weill, including 'Lonely House,' 'I'm a Stranger Here Myself,” and 'September Song.” LAO will stream the recital until July 1, 2021
