WICKED Tour Cancels FOR GOOD Cabaret

By:

The National Tour of WICKED just announced that they have canceled their one-night-only cabaret benefit "The Songs We Sing … For Good," which was scheduled for Monday evening, October 29th at the Neptune Theatre in Seattle.

The WICKED cast and crew will continue to lead a volunteer effort to educate patrons about marriage equality after every performance in Seattle between now and Election Day. The effort is part of Broadway Impact, a grassroots organization of theater artists and fans mobilized in support of marriage equality.

In addition, more than 2,700 supporters of the freedom to marry and musical theater filled the hall at Seattle’s historic Paramount Theatre last Thursday, October 18th for "WICKED for Marriage." The event was a sold-out, one-night benefit show for Washington United for Marriage (WUM), the broad coalition working to approve Referendum 74 and defend the Washington’s marriage law. Among those who attended the special performance was Governor Christine Gregoire, who signed the bipartisan marriage law in February.
