WICA Hosts THE WOMEN PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL 5/16
By: Gabrielle Sierra
The Women Playwrights Festival was founded in 1998 to nurture and support the work of women playwrights. Working in partnership with major regional theatres, the festival selects playwrights from a group of highly accomplished writers nominated by a national committee, presents public readings of the playwrights' latest work, and then invites the writers to a residency at Hedgebrook for further work on their new plays.
This year, we are proud to welcome Danai Gurira,Sherry Kramer, Lenelle Moise, and Sarah Treem. Please join us for an engaging (and entertaining) conversation with the playwrights, and watch local artists bring excerpts of their works to the stage.May 16
