As Taproot Theatre Company approaches its 35th Anniversary season, it is proud to acknowledge a special honor: Seattle Pacific University has named co-founders Scott and Pam Nolte its 2011 Alumni of the Year.

Scott Nolte-Taproot's producing artistic director-and Pam "Bailey" Nolte-the theatre's community liaison-founded Taproot Theatre Company with four others, including three other alumni, in 1976, the year they graduated with theatre degrees.

"Because of their visionary partnership, Seattle Pacific University has named the Noltes the 2011 Alumni of the Year," SPU reports in the autumn issue of Response, the university's globally-circulated magazine.

The Noltes will formally be recognized as Alumni of the Year during the university's Homecoming festivities in early 2011. As part of their yearlong honor, Scott Nolte will return to SPU's theatre department, directing its spring production of Our Town.
