Taproot Theatre presents Le Club Noel, an original Christmas play by Seattle playwrights and performers Candace and Sam Vance. Step into a 1930's Parisian Cabaret and fall under the spell of Le Club Noel, where the band is hot and the songs sung by a beautiful chanteuse. Together they create music to awaken love in the coldest of hearts. With money scarce, and WWII on the horizon, this close-knit band of musicians reminds us that Christmas has always been a time for miracles. Associate Artistic Director Karen Lund directs Le Club Noel which opens on November 29 and runs through December 28 with low-price previews on November 22 and 23 and a pay-what-you-can performance on November 27. Early bird pricing is available for performances on December 4 and 5.

Our story begins in Paris on November 11, 1933, Armistice Day, a day of remembrance akin to Veteran's Day. Based around historical events, this story takes audiences to a different time and place. Paris in the 1930's was an epicenter for arts and culture with a sparkling nightlife. Le Club Noel creates its story in a nightclub called The Purple Door, which is a lot of things-an artist's haunt, an oasis in the midst of political turmoil and a sanctuary for the performers who grace its stage. Once a year, for Christmas, The Purple Door takes on the name Le Club Noel and invites one and all to celebrate, regardless of the circumstances. This year is no exception.

Taproot Theatre is teaming up with Upper Crust Catering and the Dickens Carolers to present two festive evenings of Dinner & Theatre. Enjoy a sumptuous holiday buffet, music of the season with The Dickens Carolers and good company before strolling half a block to Taproot Theatre for the evening's theatrical entertainment, Le Club Noel. Office parties & families have discovered it's the perfect event for their groups. Individuals and couples love getting to know other theatre-goers at their tables of 8-10.
