In celebration of St. Patrick's week, STG is presenting one of Ireland's most accomplished and renowned Irish traditional music groups, Dervish at the Neptune Theatre on March 16th. Mary Jane Lamond and Wendy MacIsaac, masters of the Cape Breton tradition, will open the bill. This show will be one of the biggest Celtic music events of the year in Seattle.

In the week prior to the show, STG is offering education and community events in Irish music and dance at the Neptune, including an Irish song master class with Cathy Jordan (lead singer of Dervish), an Irish céili (community dance), a fiddle master class with Dale Russ, and a talk/performance by the Irish Piper's Club exploring Ireland's most treasured instrument, the uilleann pipes. All of the above events are free and open to the public. Dervish will also open up their sound check to local Irish music students and STG young artists, followed by a Q&A with the band (this event is invite only, not open to the public). This series is part of a bigger push by STG to offer more adult and inter-generational education programs.
