Seattle Public Theater (SPT) is proud to present Greg Pierce's play Slowgirl, directed by Kelly Kitchens, running at SPT from March 27 to April 12, 2015. Slowgirl is part of SPT's 2014-15 mainstage season of plays. Tickets are $32 for adults, $30 for seniors, $18 for youth under 25, and $5 for youth under 12. Becky, a troubled and self-centered teenager, is sent to visit her reclusive uncle Sterling in the jungles of Costa Rica. Becky has had a hand in causing a serious accident-a late-night party prank in which the "Slowgirl" of the title, a cognitively disabled classmate of Becky's, was gravely injured. But Sterling also has his demons-including a failed marriage and career. In four tightly- crafted scenes, as each character discovers a history of scandal and poor judgment, a path is revealed, connecting human frailty to personal accountability.

Slowgirl features the acting talents of Hannah Mootz as Becky and Kevin McKeon (SPT's Humble Boy and Superior Donuts) as Sterling. Set design is by Andrea Bush, lighting design is by Tristan Roberson, costumes are by Chelsea Cook, and sound design is by Evan Mosher. Properties design is by Krissy Grant. Slowgirl is stage managed by Michael Hanley.
