Ring in the New Year at the Annex with WEIRD & AWESOME and SPIN THE BOTTLE

Say farewell to the Dumpster Fire that was 2016 and say 'get in here' to 2017. Ring in the New Year on January 1 at 7 pm for the January edition of Weird & Awesome with Emmett Montgomery at the Annex Theatre.

Entering its 7th year, Annex Theatre hosts its favorite "comedian" Emmett Montgomery every month to fill our Sundays with joy and nightmares. Each show features brilliant people doing things outside of their comfort zones or the things they are really good at. Prizes are won! Friends are made! Nightmares are shared and Joy is experienced!

This month:

- Talented Co-host Dartanion London!

- Rick Miller gives us the first song of the year!

- House weirdos Travis Vogt and Kevin Clarke do something amazing!

- A song and story by Cris Rodriguez!

- Sharing by Hanna Brooks Olsen!

- A special closing set by comedian Kourtney Shane Williams!

Annex is offering prizes made by local arts and crafters! Plus special guests and surprises!

A monthly parade of wonder and awkward sharing hosted and curated by mustache wizard Emmett Montgomery. Each show features brilliant people doing the things they are really good at doing or something they have never done on stage before. Songs will be sung! Jokes will be told! Hearts will be opened! Prizes will be won! Doors at 7pm, show at 7:30pm!

On January 6 at 11pm, experience new and old friends at the January edition of Spin the Bottle... Shivering spiders! It's a snippet of SCARY MARY AND THE NIGHTMARES NINE!

Meet the creators of Seattle's newest experimental theatre troupe FILAMENT: A Collab Lab! See the dance film debut of FLOATING by Brett Love! Hear the dulcet tones and tunes of Robin Obourn! Hop into the next cel with Cole Hornaday's The Panel Jumper! Celebrate black female excellence with a preview of WANING! Revel in the return of Dartanion London doing smut! All led into the glory of the dawn by Bruce Hall!

Since 1997, Annex Theatre has been hosting Seattle's grooviest monthly happening. Experience a variety show unlike any other with a curated mix of theatre, music, film, burlesque, dance, spoken word, and the many other treasures the city has to offer. Curated by cool cat Catherine Blake Smith, who surveys the scene for the most delectable, delightful, and downright daring performers. And every evening ends with a raunchy reading of scintillating smut. Far out!
