Intiman Theatre's Board of Trustees has named Keri Kellerman as managing director. Kellerman's appointment was confirmed by unanimous vote at a special session of the Board of Trustees, held last Friday.

"I'm looking forward to partnering with Keri as we launch this new model of producing theatre," said Andrew Russell, artistic director. "In Keri, the Board of Trustees has found someone who is a true champion of the performing arts, who brings with her both experience as well as a spirited willingness to try something new."

Terry Jones, board president, said there were certain traits they were seeking for a managing director who can lead Intiman Theatre in this period of transition. They were looking for a candidate who could engage and inspire many different constituencies, including board and staff, lead the theatre into new levels of fiscal stability, and a person who has fresh, new ideas. "We believe her fundraising, management and financial skills, her history of success with every undertaking, her grasp of the challenges facing Intiman and her enthusiasm for facing those challenges makes her the ideal individual for the job," Jones said.

"Intiman has always had a special place in my heart and I'm blown away by all the love and support that the community has shown for it," said Kellerman. "I can't wait to be a part of it all and help make Intiman a brilliant, fearless and riotous home for Seattle artists and the people who love them."

Kellerman has roots in the Seattle nonprofit community, having served a variety of organizations since 1995. Kellerman was recently the Director of Advancement for UW World Series, where she led an increase in fundraising for the arts presenting organization. She has also served as a director of development for Northwest Parkinson's Foundation, Seattle Youth Garden Works, and On the Boards. Other area experience includes corporate relations, fundraising, management, and research roles for Pacific Northwest Ballet, Center on Contemporary Art, Seattle Repertory Theatre, and Mason J. Blacher & Associates. Kellerman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art from Pacific Lutheran University.

In addition to her professional support of nonprofits, Kellerman serves on the board of zoe I juniper, a local dance company. She is also a member of Canoe Social Club and a participant in Washington State Arts Alliance.

Following Intiman's successful one million dollar fundraising campaign, the board's selection of a managing director continues Intiman Theatre's progress toward reopening of the theatre this summer. Donors are now fulfilling their pledges to pay for the 2012 season and auditions for the new repertory company are also underway.
