B.Michael Peterson's TRUCE Premieres at Eclectic Theater Tonight
B.Michael Peterson presents the World Premiere of TRUCE, produced, written and directed by B.Michael Peterson with dramaturgy by L.Nicol Cabe.
JESSE (played by Jason Quisenberry) is a writer with a secret that he is holding from his boyfriend. He is HIV positive, which he just found out. Jesse has not told his boyfriend because he is scared to trigger his boyfriends anger. But he can not control everything, so when the truth comes out, Jesse needs to flee away to breathe and realize that he is with the wrong man.
CASEY (played by Jacob Andrew) has anger management issues and is domestically violent to his boyfriend, but he still loves him. Casey finds out from his sister that his younger gay brother has committed suicide and looses control on his boyfriend.
STORMY (played by Mia Tesfay) is Casey's little sister who is a feisty storm that should not be reckon'd with. In the beginning, you see that Stormy and Jesse don't see eye to eye but are both cordial with one another around Casey. When she discovers how his brother is treating Jesse, she looses it and is forced to put her brother in check with an intervention and in doing so they both heal broken wounds regarding the loss of their other brother. In the end, Stormy becomes Jesse's best friend and shafts her brother into rehab and fix himself.
AARON (played by Jeremy Behrens) is the knight in shining armor for Jesse. Ten years prior to this moment in the play, Aaron knew Casey but under a different name in London. Clearly defining this to Jesse and his suspicions are confirmed when he see's Casey for the first time in ten years, where he was victimized by Casey just like he's doing to Jesse. Jesse then takes Jesse away from the situation and shows him that life can hold so much more positive possibilities.
OPENING TONIGHT, January 14th, 2016. Performances run through January 24th, 2016, Thursdays through Sundays at 7:30pm. Pay What You Can Industry Night on Monday, January 18th, 2016. All performances are a 7:30pm showing. The length of the show is approximately an hour and a half with one brief intermission. Shows play the Eclectic Theater, 1214 10th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122.
