ArtsWest Announces GODSPELL, 8/15-19
ArtsWest Playhouse and Gallery will present Godspell, performed by our 12-16 year old Theater Conservatory students. One of the biggest Broadway hits of all time from the composer of Wicked, Godspell carries a universal message of kindness, tolerance and love. The cast, along with singing, dancing and acting, will also be playing their own instruments during our new staging of this musical theater classic, directed by Christopher Zinovitch, Becca Orts, Kody Bringman and Ryan Floresca.
The ArtsWest Theater Conservatory is a nationally recognized intensive summer program for teens, now in its 10th year. The program offers a variety of classes in music, acting, dance, and theater history. Professional teaching artists use the National Standards in the Arts as set out by the NEA to create curriculum for each class the students take.
Godspell’s great pop-rock score features the classics “Day by Day” and “Beautiful City.” This show will be fun for the whole family. Performances run August 15-19, 2012, 7:30p.m. Wednesday – Saturday; 3:00p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets available on-line at www.artswest.org, or through the ArtsWest Box Office: 206-938-0339. (Box Office Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, Noon-7pm).
