John-Luke Roberts returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with his first brand new show in four years, following a pulmonary embolism and subsequent mental health crisis that led him to confront death head-on. As a member of the Berlin-based art group The Association for the Palliative Turn, he channels his health scare into a poignant and hilarious exploration of the human condition and how little we understand about what is happening in our own bodies. This Gaulier-trained clown strips back his usual avant-garde theatrics, blending traditional stand-up and storytelling with absurdist sensibilities and poetry in what is set to be his purest stand-up hour to date.
