“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden”
Promising to charm Edinburgh audiences this summer, Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre present their vibrant, playful adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s enchanting classic, THE SECRET GARDEN.
After the death of her parents, Mary Lennox is sent to England to live in Misselthwaite Manor; her uncle's great, lonely house on the moors. Everybody says she is the most disagreeable-looking child ever seen. It is true, too. Mary is pale, spoilt and quite contrary. But she is also horribly lonely.
Then one day she hears about a garden in the grounds of the Manor that has been kept locked and hidden for years. And when a friendly robin helps Mary find the key, she discovers the most magical place anyone could imagine...
Using original live music, puppetry and just a little bit of magic, the Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre present Lucy Betts’ spirited adaptation of one of the best-loved stories of all time. Swapping Guildford for the Gilded Balloon Teviot, the Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre journey north to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe for the ninth consecutive year.
A glorious tale of triumph in the face of adversity, little ones and their grown-ups will all enjoy an hour with inquisitive Mary Lennox and her new-found friends in this magical adventure.
Ages: Most suitable for 4yrs+
