In a darkly comic and absurd exploration of love, death and duty, a seagull attempts to coax a man diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease to relinquish his body and grant him eternal peace. This four-hander follows Francis, a man caged in his home with a devastating diagnosis, as an anthropomorphised seagull offers to nest inside his body, remove the MND, and free his pregnant daughter from the burden of his care. Written by Peter McCormick and directed by Ben Standish, the production features cast members Michael Guest, Peter McCormick, Francesca Hess, and Billy Mack. Set to an original score with fast-paced physical theatre, the play examines what care looks like across generations when a child becomes a carer and a parent becomes a patient.
