Mrs. Christie is written by Heidi Armbruster and draws on the real-life 1926 disappearance of Agatha Christie, who vanished and reappeared eleven days later without explanation. In the play, a Christie superfan named Lucy visits the author's estate and discovers an unpublished diary written in Christie's own hand, resolving to crack the case once and for all. The story unfolds in parallel storylines that blend past, present, and Poirot.
