Come From Away, with book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, is a Tony Award-winning musical based on the true story of Gander, Newfoundland, where 38 planes were grounded on September 11, 2001, doubling the town's population overnight. Rather than panic, the locals opened their homes and hearts to stranded passengers from around the world, transcending culture clashes and language barriers. Directed by Roger DeLaurier, with a cast that includes Kitty Balay, Karole Foreman, René Millán, Erik Stein, Andrew Philpot, and others, the production features a folk-rock score that brings to life the individual stories of both the people of Gander and the travelers thrust into an unforgettable moment in history.
