When free-spirited Maria is sent to serve as governess for the seven children of a strict naval Captain, she transforms their home from a place of rules and silence to one filled with joy, laughter, and music. But as their beloved Austria is being taken over by the Nazis, the family must band together and follow their hearts, no matter the cost.
