TheatreWorks, the nationally-acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, is proud to present the West Coast Premiere of Theophilus North, opening Saturday, July 21 with performances through Sunday, August 12 at the Lucie Stern Theatre.  This affectionate American comedy by Matthew Burnett, adapted from the novel by Thornton Wilder, is directed by Leslie Martinson.

"Theophilus North is the last of Wilder's works published during his lifetime," explains press notes, "Seeking a life-changing adventure in 1926 New England, a disenchanted Yale grad finds his used Model T broken down in the elegant enclave of Newport, Rhode Island. Working odd jobs for the wealthy, he finds purpose in the prosaic, inadvertently changing the lives of everyone he meets… This Helen Hayes Award nominee, which premiered in 2003 as a co-production at Arena Stage and Geva Theatre Center, is full of Wilder's wry humor, folksy philosophy, and celebration of the American spirit."

Previews are July 19 & 20 with an opening July 21, performances through August 12.

Show times are 8PM Previews; Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 7:30PM; Thursdays & Fridays at 8PM; Saturdays at 2 & 8PM; and Sundays at 2 & 7PM. "Visual Voice" audio-described performances are available August 10 & 11 at 8PM, and August 13 at 2PM.
