Sierra Rep Hosts A 'Kid's' Christmas Story and Holiday Carols

By: Nov. 07, 2016

Sierra Rep invites families with children ages six and older to arrive early Friday, November 18 for free balloons, face painting, holiday crafts and photos before the 7 p.m. performance of "A Christmas Story." Tickets for the "Kids Night Out" performance are just $15 for children ages 6 to 17 (using code "KIDS" online) and $25 for adults (using code "KIDS2" online). Activities begin at 6 p.m.

The theatre will also host local singing group Sincerely on November 25 for free entertainment beginning one hour before the 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.performances at the East Sonora Theatre.

Tickets for Kids Night Out and the Thanksgiving weekend performances can be purchased online at sierrarep.org or by phone at 209-532-3120.

"A Christmas Story" follows young Ralphie Parker's fervent campaign for a Red Ryder BB gun, unfolding despite a chorus of worries ("You'll shoot your eye out!") and amid seasonal shenanigans involving a leg lamp, a bunny suit and a tongue stuck to a frozen flagpole. Relive a family tradition or start one anew with this stage adaptation of the beloved film, inspired by Jean Shepherd's classic American stories about Christmas - and growing up - in the Midwest.
