San Francisco Theatre Critics Circle Presents Annual Awards, 3/09
The 39th SF Bay Area Critics Circle Awards Gala will be presented at Victoria Theatre, located at 2961 16th Street, San Francisco. Built in 1908 as a vaudeville house, the Victoria Theatre is a San Francisco landmark and the oldest operating theater in San Francisco.
Hosted by actor/comedian/playwright Reed Martin (of the Reduced Shakespeare Company) and dancer/choreographer/playwright Robert Henry Johnson (60 Million Plus Theater), the gala event celebrates the best of local theater with over 60 awards in recognition of excellence in production, performance and technical craft. The SFBATCC 39th Annual Excellence in Theatre Awards Gala is an Actors' Equity Association sponsored event.
The SFBATCC will also present four special awards to the Pear Avenue Theatre of Mountain View; Margie Belrose and The Belrose Theatre of San Rafael; performance artist and playwright Marga Gomez; and dynamic young playwright, actor, director Dezi Gallegos.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance through Brown Paper Tickets. Ticket price includes admission, musical entertainment, two beverages and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets will also be available at the door, where cash only will be accepted.
