The San Francisco Playhouse has announced its 2006-07 season!  The SF Playhouse provides a creative home and inspiring environment where actors, directors, writers, designers and theatre lovers converge to create works that celebrate the human spirit.  As described by press notes, the season includes:

THE RIDE DOWN MOUNT MORGAN
By Arthur Miller

September 29 – November 4, 2006

Previews: September 26, 27 and 28

One of America's most adored playwrights, Arthur Miller has created a memorable character in Lyman Felt. Though nothing short of a cad and in spite of his lying and cheating, he remains lovable throughout. The Ride Down Mount Morgan focuses on the issues of age and aging, and the effect of time upon long term relationships.

RECKLESS
By Craig Lucas
November 18 – December 23, 2006

Previews: November 15, 16 and 17

Rachel has a problem. It's Christmas Eve and she is so happy, as she repeatedly tells her husband Tom. Suddenly, he reveals he has taken a contract out on her life. This is just the opening scene of Craig Lucas' Reckless, a modern day odyssey for a woman whose life has turned upside down, and stays that way. This remarkable dark comedy is a treat for the senses, inviting the audience to share laughter and pain in the most absurd yet oddly familiar circumstances.

THREE SECONDS IN THE KEY
By Deb Margolin
West Coast Premiere

January 13 – February 11, 2007

Previews: January 10, 11 and 12

No one experiences the world quite like Obie award-winning artist Deb Margolin. Her latest journey is a trip through recovery, motherhood, and the New York Knicks' 1999 season. Three Seconds in the Key is the story of one mother's fall and rise as she competes with Hodgekin's disease for her son and her identity. It is a hilarious and heart-wrenching chronicle of coping with illness and coming to terms with the chronic low-grade ecstasy of dancing in and out underneath the basket. The truth is you're only allowed three seconds in the key.

JESUS HOPPED THE 'A' TRAIN
By Stephen Adly Guirgis

West Coast Premiere
March 3 – April 8, 2007

Previews: February 28, March 1 and 2

At last this provocative play from one of the hottest new playwright in New York, Stephen Adly Guirgis, receives a West Coast Premiere! Discovered by Philip Seymour Hoffman, who directed the breathtaking debut at the Public Theatre, Guirgis' world is gritty, yet familiar. A memorial for the beloved teacher, Sister Rose brings together former schoolmates who unearth memories, seek forgiveness and re-forge splintering relationships. With trademark intensity, Guirgis brings a unique, urban style to this moving and hilarious story about the power of responsibility.

THE MAN OF LA MANCHA
Music: Mitch Leigh, Lyrics: Joe Lardon, Book: Dale Wasserman

Opens: June 30, 2007

Previews: June 27-29, 2007

The epic story of knight-errant Don Quixote, his servant Sancho, and the woman of his dreams, the lovely Aldonza/Dulcinea. The tale-set during the Spanish Inquisition-tells the romantic and noble journey of a knight who sets out to right all wrongs and win the heart of a good woman as he duels windmills along the way. Based on The Adventures of Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes', Man of La Mancha is the classic comic tragedy of man's struggle against all odds to dream impossible dreams.
