Ross Valley Players Open 2013-2014 Season with Neil Simon's CHAPTER TWO, 9/12-10/13

By:

Ross Valley Players is proud to open their 2013 - 2014 season with the Tony Award nominated play, Chapter Two, a story about love and second chances by renowned playwright Neil Simon. This semi-autobiographical play is seasoned with plenty of Neil Simon's wit and an honest understanding of human emotions. Chapter Two matches George, a widowed New York novelist, and Jennie, a recently divorced actress, who are pushed together by his brother Leo and her neurotic married friend Faye. What follows is a seesaw courtship that provides love and laughs in this very human and ultimately touching comedy. Chapter Two begins with a preview on Thursday, September 12 and runs through Sunday, October 13. Opening Night is Friday, September 13 at 8PM. www.rossvalleyplayers.com

Chapter Two tells the story of novelist George Schneider (David Shirk), a grieving widower who is struggling to recover from his wife's passing. At the same time, soap opera actress Jennie Malone (Kate Fox Marcom) is trying to move on after a painful divorce. Desperately wanting each to get on with their lives, George's brother Leo Schneider (Johnny DeBernard) and Jennie's best friend Faye Medwick (Jennifer Reimer), who used to date each other, send George and Jennie on a series of blind dates, which end up disastrously. So when Leo and Faye run into each other and suggest that George and Jennie go out on a date, both George and Jennie are reluctant, thinking this date will end up like the rest. However, both are pleasantly surprised with each other and the two have a whirlwind romance what gives them hope that love can be found the second time around. But will George be able to move on with the next chapter in his life? Or will he be forever stuck on Chapter One? Chapter Two is directed by James Nelson, and produced by Robert Wilson.
