Patty Gallagher Replaces Joan Makin in Cal Shakes' TWELFTH NIGHT

California Shakespeare Theater has announced a cast change in its production of Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT, directed by Michelle Hensley. Patty Gallagher will play the role of Andrew Aguecheek, replacing Joan Mankin.

Patty Gallagher is Professor of Theatre Arts at University of California Santa Cruz where she teaches movement, mask, Balinese dance, and clown traditions. Her previous Cal Shakes roles include Winnie in Happy Days and

P.T. Quince in A Midsummer Night's Dream. She has worked with Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Folger Shakespeare Theatre, New Pickle Circus, Ripe Time Theatre, Two River Theater Company, Teatro del Cronopio, and Groupo Malayerba. She has performed, choreographed and directed workshops in Asia, South America, Europe, and the U.S. In 2006 she was Fulbright Scholar in Quito, Ecuador. She holds a doctorate in Theatre from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is Director in Residence for the Clown Conservatory, San Francisco Circus Center.

Public performances of Twelfth Night will be held Thursdays-Sundays, February 20-March 2, at Intersection for the Arts in San Francisco. Evening performances begin at 8pm; there will also be two Sunday matinees at 2pm on February 23 and March 2. Tickets are $20 each, available online at www.calshakes.org or by phone at 510.548.9666.
