PIPPIN Tour to Stop at San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts in January

Ring in the New Year with the South Bay premiere of the thrilling 2013 Tony Award-winning musical PIPPIN - hailed as "an eye-popping, jaw-dropping, VISUALLY STUNNING extravaganza.
Presented by Broadway San Jose, a Nederlander Presentation, PIPPIN will play San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts (255 Almaden Blvd.) for a limited engagement from January 5-10 2016. Press night will be held on Tuesday, January 5. Tickets for PIPPIN range in price from $33-$108 and are available now online at www.ticketmaster.com, in-person at the City National Civic Theatre Box Office (150 West San Carlos Street), or by calling 800-982-ARTS (2787). The performance schedule for the San Jose engagement of PIPPIN is as follows: Tuesday, January 5 at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, January 7 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, January 8 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, January 9 at 2 & 8 p.m.; Sunday, January 10 at 1 & 6:30 p.m. PIPPIN is back for the first time since it thrilled audiences 40 years ago... With a beloved score by Tony nominee Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell), PIPPIN tells the story of a young prince on a death-defying journey to find meaning in his existence. Will he choose a happy but simple life? Or will he risk everything for a singular flash of glory? This captivating new production, directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Hair and The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess), features sizzling choreography by Tony Award nominee Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation of breathtaking acrobatics by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers) the creative force behind the nationwide sensation Traces. PIPPIN is noted for many Broadway standards including "Corner of the Sky," "Magic To Do," "Glory," "No Time at All," "Morning Glow," and "Love Song."
