Marin Shakespeare Company Announces Pay-As-You-Like-It Admission for all Performances of AS YOU LIKE IT, 7/5-8/10

By:

Marin Shakespeare Company celebrates the 450th Anniversary of Will Shakespeare's birth (April 23, 2014) with an announcement of a special gift for Bay Area Shakespeare fans and the theater going community.

Thanks to a special 25th Silver Season gift from an anonymous donor, when audiences attend any Marin Shakespeare Company performance of "As You Like It" this summer, all tickets are "Pay As You Like It."

Donations of any amount will be accepted at the door for all performances July 5 to August 10, 2014, including the Silver Season Celebration on Saturday, July 12, 2014. The July 12 pre-show, opening night event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include a dessert buffet, champagne toasts and special entertainment, music and festivities.

"What a perfect year to share Shakespeare with everyone in our community," said Robert Currier, Artistic Director of Marin Shakespeare Company. "Our generous angel is challenging Marin Shakespeare to see how many people we can entice to enjoy 'As You Like It' under the stars this summer. We hope all of our supporters will help us spread the word about this amazing birthday gift, celebrating our 25th year and Shakespeare's 450th birthday."

The MSC 2014 summer festival season continues with "Romeo and Juliet," opening on July 26 and "An Ideal Husband," opening Aug. 23. Performances are presented in repertory through September 28, 2014. Admission for "Romeo and Juliet" and "An Ideal Husband" is $12 for previews and $35 general; $32 senior; and $20 youth for all other performances. "Pay Your Age" is offered to audience members between the ages of 20 and 35-years old when purchasing tickets at the box office on the day of any performance, with valid identification.

Marin Shakespeare Company presents its outdoor productions at Forest Meadows Amphitheatre, 890 Belle Avenue, Dominican University of California, San Rafael, Calif. 94901. The amphitheater opens one hour prior to show time for picnicking. Audiences are encouraged to bring picnics or purchase snacks at the Theatre Cafe. Warm clothing, jackets and blankets are recommended for evening performances. Parking is free.
