Mannheim Steamroller Bring The Holidays to Post St Theatre

By:

The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller, America's favorite holiday concert, rolls into San Francisco's Post Street Theatre (450 Post Street) for a limited engagement beginning Thursday, December 20 and running through Sunday, January 6, 2008. Tickets for The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller go on sale Thursday, November 8 at the Post Street Theatre box office, by phone at 415-771-6900 and on the web at www.ticketmaster.com.  Tickets range from $65 to $75. Premium seats are available. There will also be a special New Year's Eve performance; all seats $100.

Debuting selections from Mannheim Steamroller's just-released CD, Christmas Song, the 4-member band takes the stage accompanied by a 10-piece orchestra. In addition to new music, the band will perform audience favorites from Mannheim Steamroller's six multi-platinum Christmas albums, in an extravagant multi-media event.

"With its unusual name, Mannheim Steamroller re-invented Christmas music as a serious business with its initiAl Blockbuster release in 1984 Mannheim Steamroller Christmas. Since then, Mannheim Steamroller has rocketed to international acclaim with its exhilarating sound and rhythm, and is best known for its now-classic arrangements of 'Silent Night,' 'Deck the Halls,' and 'Joy to the World.' Their latest CD, Christmas Song, features tunes selected by long-time Mannheim Steamroller fans, who were invited to vote which carols should get the 'Mannheim treatment,'" explain press notes. Christmas Song is now available in stores everywhere and online at www.mannheimsteamroller.com.

Mannheim Steamroller is an ever-changing consortium of musicians, technicians and engineers using state-of-the-art equipment to create Mannheim Steamroller's signature sound. With more than 35 million albums sold, Mannheim Steamroller has earned a place in the musical stratosphere. Founder and composer Chip Davis does not plan to appear in person with the band in San Francisco.

The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller will play San Francisco's Post Street Theatre (450 Post Street, 2nd floor) Thursday, December 20, 2007 through Sunday, January 6, 2008.
