Kronos Quartet to Return to Rancho Nicasio for BBQ on the Lawn This Month

The San Francisco-based Kronos Quartet will return to Rancho Nicasio for BBQ on the Lawn, July 24, at 4pm.

Located on the Nicasio town square, Rancho Nicasio was established in 1941 and has retained its rural atmosphere and tranquil beauty. Performing at the historic roadhouse's popular summer music series is a favorite tradition for the Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet-their first visit was in 2005. It's a relaxed atmosphere where audiences are invited to pull up a lawn chair (or bring their own), order some delicious barbeque, and enjoy a live concert among the rolling hills of West Marin.

"Rancho Nicasio has some of the best vibes of any outdoor concert venue Kronos has ever played," says Kronos' Founder and Artistic Director David Harrington. "We love performing for our Rancho Nicasio audience and always hope to make vivid listening experiences that can expand sonic palettes focused by tasty food, fresh air, and bright summer light."

On July 24 Kronos performs an innovative and eclectic program including works by Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, Mazz Swift, Peni Candra Rini, Philip Glass, and Michael Gordon.
