George Lopez and Lyle Lovett Coming to Santa Rosa This Summer

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (The Center) announced the return of beloved singer-songwriter Lyle Lovett and His Large Band on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 8 p.m. The Center also announced that acclaimed actor and comedian George Lopez would be returning to the stage in Santa Rosa for one night only on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 8 p.m. Tickets for Lyle Lovett and His Large Band range in price from $65-$85 and tickets for George Lopez: #ThatsTrue Comedy Tour range from $55-$69 with both shows going on sale Friday, April 15 at noon. They are available online at lutherburbankcenter.org, by calling 707-546-3600 or at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts ticket office (50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa).

A singer, composer and actor, Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums over three decades. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of Americana, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers. Lovett's live performances show not only the breadth of this Texas legend's deep talents, but also the diversity of his influences, making him one of the most compelling and captivating musicians in popular music. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, Lyle Lovett has evolved into one of music's most vibrant and iconic performers. His many accolades include four Grammy Awards, Americana Music Association's inaugural Trailblazer Award, and being named Texas State Musician. His works, rich and eclectic, are some of the most beloved of any living artist working today.

George Lopez is a multi-talented entertainer whose career encompasses television, film, standup comedy and late-night television. He has risen to become one of the premier comedic talents in the entertainment industry often praised by audiences and critics alike for his professional work as well as his extensive charity work with various foundations. For two seasons, Lopez hosted Lopez Tonight, a late-night television talk show on TBS, which represented Lopez's return to series television after co-creating, writing, producing and starring in Warner Bros. Television's groundbreaking hit sitcom George Lopez, which ran for six seasons on ABC. George Lopez remains a hit with viewers in syndication on broadcast stations ranking as one of the top-rated shows on the network and among the top five comedies and top 20 weekly programs in syndication. He has filmed two HBO Comedy Specials, earned a Grammy nomination for his standup album El Mas Chingon and voiced characters in animated blockbusters such as Rio and The Smurfs including their subsequent sequels.

Lopez has also been the focus of the award-winning documentary Brown is the New Green: George Lopez and the American Dream. He has received the Manny Mota Foundation Community Spirit Award and was even named Honorary Mayor of Los Angeles for his extensive fundraising efforts benefiting earthquake victims in El Salvador and Guatemala. Time magazine has featured him as one of the "25 Most Influential Hispanics in America", and the Harris Poll named him one of the "Top Ten Favorite Television Personalities". Lopez has made more than 200 television comedy, talk show and hosting appearances, including co-hosting the Emmy Awards and twice hosting the Latin Grammys.
