Three Wise Monkeys Theatre Co. is thrilled to announce the opening of the eighth annual Bay One-Acts (BOA) Festival, an exciting, provocative showcase of new writing for the stage. Beginning February 19, the Festival will present a diverse collection of nine plays selected from the more than one hundred scripts submitted. The Festival will again be held at San Francisco's Eureka Theatre and will feature two distinct programs. For the third week of the Festival (March 4-8) both programs will be staged in rep-a challenge for actors and production crews and a great opportunity for theatre-goers to see all nine plays in one week! Special low-priced Festival Passes are available for these marathon patrons.

The BOA Festival is designed and promoted to celebrate the playwright. Since 2002, 3WM has presented over eighty original one-act plays by Bay Area writers. For this year's event, six of the nine playwrights have been produced by 3WM in earlier Festivals. A good sign as it indicates they are still writing and honing their craft. Program One of the Festival will feature playwrights Mike Ricca, Ben Fisher, Peggy Powell and Crish Barth; Program Two will showcase the work of Lauren D. Yee, Jon Brooks, Cassandra Lewis, Ignacio Zulueta and Scott Munson.

3WM is delighted to include more local companies as presenters in this year's Festival. Asian American Theater Company, Threshold Theatre Company, AtmosTheatre, Bindlestiff Studio, Cassandra's Call Productions, Ragged Wing Ensemble, Solo Bello and Second Wind Productions will join Three Wise Monkeys in staging this year's scripts.
