EXIT Theatre Presents The 27th Annual San Francisco Fringe Festival Join EXIT Theatre and twenty-one local, national, and international theatre companies for the 27th annual San Francisco Fringe Festival, from Thursday, September 6 to Saturday, September 15. A worldwide phenomenon, begun 71 years ago in Edinburgh, Scotland, Fringe Festivals allows performers to debut new, experimental, and challenging work, develop their reputations, hone their craft, and tour the globe. Participants of the San Francisco Fringe have built their theatre careers from Fringe foundations, including Mark Jackson, Cutting Ball Theater Company, Thrillpeddlers, Boxcar Theatre, and Banana Bag & Bodice.

This year we're excited to welcome returning artists such as New York's Master of the Macabre Cabaret and Best of Fringe, 2017 winner, Dandy Darkly, Oakland's Kathleen Denny, with her newest solo show, Tolerance? Meet Miss September!!!, and James Sundquist, also a winner of Best of Fringe, 2017, with his latest exploration of the absurd. Anticipated out-of-towners include George Glass Comedy's Scientology, the Musical, all the way from South Australia, New York City native and Comedy Central regular Bill Santiago with his cosmic quest The Immaculate Big Bang, and 3-time Moth storySLAM winner, NYC's Jamie Brickhouse, with his award-winning solo show, Dangerous When Wet: Booze, Sex, and My Mother. Local debuts will include The Mermaid's Tears, by prolific playwright Evelyn Jean Pine, Marcus Duskin's blend of protest music and memory, The Folk This! Songbook - an End of Empire Memoir, and I K(no)w, a solo show about learning to say "no," by Showgirl Awakening's Kellita Maloof. Details of all 21 shows, including performer information and show schedules, will be posted at www.sffringe.org.

The San Francisco Fringe Festival is produced by EXIT Theatre and is the oldest grassroots theatre festival in the Bay Area, and the second-oldest (by a few months) in the US. We're members of CAFF (Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals), and run our festival in accordance with CAFF principles, including non-curated, unjuried content and selection, and 100% of ticket sales going to the artists. During the last 26 years the SF Fringe has presented over 5000 performances by over 1,000 independent theatre companies, and hosted countless indie theatre-makers on our stages.

Tickets: available online at http://www.sffringe.org, and at the door day-of-show, prices vary.
