A veritable institution in the world of classical music,
The Romeros, also known as "The Royal Family of the Guitar", has dazzled countless audiences and won the raves of reviewers worldwide. With the 1996 passing of Celedonio Romero, founder and creator of The Romeros guitar dynasty, his sons and grandsons continue his legacy and pay homage to him with every performance.
Celebrating their 50th anniversary, The Romeros now encompass three generations of concert artists. To have so many virtuosi of the same instrument in one family is unique in the world of musical performance, and in the realm of the classical guitar it is absolutely without precedence. Those who are privileged to hear these world-renowned musicians perform have the delightful opportunity to experience a musical phenomenon.
Spanish String Orchestra Concerto Màlaga, was founded in 1996 in Southern Spain, and is sponsored by the Màlaga City Council. The thirteen-piece ensemble is composed of chamber musicians from around the world and is much acclaimed for its interpretations of Spanish music.
In 2008 the group was named "Orchestra in Residence" in County Donegal, Ireland and the ensemble remains active in this region and has an ongoing educational-performance project in the Northwest of Ireland working with different cultural institutions. The Artistic Director of Concerto Màlaga is Maestro Massimo Paris, a celebrated soloist of viola and viola d'amore.
Ages: Children 6 years of age & older, please.
