Join Mary as she lays her mother to rest. Through her mother’s dying, Mary learned how to live. Hail Mary, None of the Grace is a rollercoaster of awakenings for Kennedy, which has created the woman she is today.

Mary Kennedy was the recurring character “New Fiona” on Shameless, Season 7 and garnered the prestigious honor of being added to the Shameless Hall of Shame for the final season on Showtime. The movie Tales of a Fifth Grade Robin Hood, where she plays the role of “Berniece, The Lunch Lady”, is streaming on TUBI TV. Tales stars Jon Lovitz and Stephen Glickman. Just recently, the short, Free Chair, made it’s debut at Sherman Oaks Film Festival, with rave reviews! Mary also booked her second thriller Your Lucky Day, directed by Dan Brown which made its world debut at Fantastic Fest and has a US distribution deal with Well Go USA Entertainment. You can also see her in the upcoming series Beyond Belief, Fact or Fiction directed by Holger Frick through Superposition Films. One of the most fun, she had on set recently, was playing a crazed Chippendales fan, on HULU’s Welcome to Chippendales. In addition, she was a recurring, principal sketch actress on CONAN-TBS. Plus Funny or Die, with Director and Comedic Legend, Rick Overton.
Films include, Tiffany Johnson’s film Girl Callin with production company REFINERY 29. Kennedy
was cast, as the “Waitress” and it premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. She also was in “Shattered” as Mrs. Searcy, Starring Ray Wise, Molly Burnett and Arianna Zucker.
In Los Angeles, she appeared in the theatre production of AfterGlow the ‘80s Musical Experience with the #originalgorgeousladiesofwrestling (GLOW) as legendary wrestling manager, Jackie Stallone. Kennedy received two Broadway World Award Nominations: Best Supporting Actor and subsequently won a Best Ensemble Award.
Her one woman show, Mid Life Mood Swing, made it’s debut in LA at Oh My Ribs back in 2018, did a tour to sold out audiences on the east coast, including Mary’s hometown and just had a successful showing at SOLOFEST 2023 through The Whitefire Theatre in Los Angeles and at Off Cabot in Beverly, MA to sold out crowds. This show is a rollercoaster ride about being her mom’s roadie for the wedding band The Mood Swings in the 80’s, being cousins with the Kennedys, yeah those Kennedys and going through motherhood, midlife and menopause. This is on tour for 2023-2024 on both the east and west coasts.
Mary Kennedy, is a headlining comic, all over the country and appears regularly at Flappers Comedy Club, The Laugh Factory and Cinegrill-Roosevelt Theatre. She has also worked at the Comedy Store LA/La Jolla, Comedy Chateau, The Ice House and The Improv (Hollywood, Ontario, Irvine, Brea). When in NYC, she is a regular at Broadway Comedy Club and Greenwich Comedy Club. This past summer she headlined, Laugh Boston’s Off Cabot on the north shore of Boston. She toured nationally with Mom’s Night Out which subsequently was in development with NickMom/Viacom. Her hilarious comedy was also on the LIVE version of Showtime’s Comedy Special, Funny Women of a Certain Age at the Hollywood and Brea Improvs, Flappers and the Off Broadway Theatre-The Kraine in NYC.

Fun fact! Mary and Charlene went to college together in Boston but didn't start working together until they were paired up on a benefit show eons later in Los Angeles. They have been co-collaborating ever since!
Charlene would like to thank Mary for bringing her back to direct. She is so proud of this show and the journey Mary has taken with it. Charlene directed Hail Mary, None of the Grace and Kezia Norton’s Fill Your Pockets with Sunshine at Edinburgh Fringe 2025. Hail Mary, None of the Grace won Best of Fest for Whitefire SoloFest 2026 season in LA.
Charlene also directed Mary's "Mid Life Mood Swing" to rave reviews in both Los Angeles and Mary's hometown of Marblehead, MA.
In 2023, “Mid Life Mood Swing” the current version, premiered at the Whitefire Solofest 2023 and performed to sold out crowds at Off Cabot in Beverly, MA in August of 2023.
In addition to directing, Charlene is also an actor, writer and stand-up comic.Her one woman show Ranch Dressing; The Musical, My Life as Server, had it’s world premiere at Whitefire SoloFest 2026 season. She won a Broadway World Award for Best Ensemble for her role as Young Matilda the Hun in "AfterGLOW – The Musical".
