Ssubi Foundation (www.ssubihut.com ) will present two benefit performances of Tina Lifford's critically-acclaimed play, The Circle, on November 7th and 8th, directed by award-winning international theater director, Shirley Jo Finney. The performances will be held at San Diego's Historic Cygnet Old Towne Theatre (4040 Twiggs St., San Diego, CA 92110). The Circle is a 90-minute journey with seven diverse women as they navigate the choppy waters of life and ultimately proclaim, "I am enough."

Ssubi means "hope" in Ugandan and the foundation is providing hope as it empowers and
inspires more than 600,000 people in rural Uganda, many of them women with AIDS and/or
ravaged by civil war. Ssubi Foundation teaches them new skills to become economically
self-sufficient, and provides access to critically needed medical care. Ssubi Foundation founder
and San Diego resident, Laura Luxemburg, partnered with Uganda's Asili Health Center in 2009
to start the organization, and hopes this benefit will enable her to assist more Ugandan residents.
Playwright Tina Lifford joined forces with Ssubi Foundation in 2010 based on a shared passion
to empower people no matter where they live. Together, they traveled to Uganda where Lifford
created a "Circle experience" for HIV patients in the foundation's program. "We're all suffering
from some version of the same challenges. It's a universal human condition and transcends
cultural, language and other issues. We need to come together and provide hope now more than
ever," according to Luxemburg.

The Circle is a play that many audience members say is a unique transformational experience.
Lifford and Luxemburg are confident the show will entertain, educate, inspire, and leave you
with an "I can-ability". Internationally acclaimed author and lecturer, MariAnne Williamson, says
The Circle is "a celebration of an awesome and ancient power: women sitting in a circle with
compassion and without judgment, sharing and releasing from their hearts."
The colorful cast of The Circle includes: Lifford, who has been on more than 80 TV shows and
is currently on NBC's "Parenthood"; Suzanne Whang, an award-winning comedian who has
appeared on "Comedy Central" and hosted HGTV's "House Hunters"; and, Camille Saviola, who
has graced Broadway for many years, and who has been in the hit HBO series, "Entourage".

Advance ticket purchase for The Circle is required as they will not be available at the box office or
on the day of the performances. Tickets are $35 and available by visiting: www.thecircleplay.com
