Photo Flash: San Diego Musical Theatre's WEST SIDE STORY Opens Tonight

San Diego Musical Theatre presents the first production of their 2015 season, WEST SIDE STORY, now through March 1, 2015 (press opening tonight, February 14) at their new home, the Spreckels Theatre on Broadway in downtown San Diego. BroadwayWorld has a look at the cast in action below!

The world's greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark Broadway musical that is one of the theatre's finest accomplishments. Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City, as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the "American" Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.

WEST SIDE STORY features music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and book by Arthur Laurents. The production will be directed by James Vasquez with choreography by Randy Slovacek, musical direction by Don Le Master, lighting design by Amanda Zieves, costume design by Janet Pitcher, production manager Bret Young and stage manager Stanley Cohen.
