John Leguizamo will get up close and personal in his new, uncensored, uninhibited tour-de-force one-man show, John Leguizamo Diary of a Madman, playing in workshop at the La Jolla Playhouse from March 4 - March 14, 2010. The workshop is part of the theater's Page to Stage series that allows audiences to watch productions in their development process.

In Leguizamo's trademark live performance style, this autobiographical piece provides insight into where he's been and the colorful characters who've shaped different facets of his life. Diary of a Madman tells the story of his adolescent memories in Queens, New York, the early days of his acting career and beyond - with stories of the outrageous 80's avant-garde theater scene and anecdotes from major movie sets and roles opposite some of Hollywood's biggest film stars.

Previous one-man shows by the actor include Sexaholix, Freak, and Spic-o-rama. Additional Broadway credits include American Buffalo. Off-Broadway, he wrote and took part in Mambo Mouth, where he played seven different characters. Mambo Mouth won an Obie Award and an Outer Critics Award. On screen, he has starred in Romeo & Juliet, Super Mario Brothers, and Moulin Rouge!
