[the] movement initiative's co-directors, Ami Ipapo and Caryn Glass, have teamed up with local playwright Sarah Hunter in an effort to take on a project unlike anything else they have ever created.
Making it's world premiere in this year's San Diego International Fringe Festival, the dance drama VICTOR CHARLIE (its title a derivative of the term Vietnamese Communist or Viet Cong or VC; which the NATO phonetic alphabet pronounced VICTOR-CHARLIE) follows the journey of a young man who is drafted at the start of the Vietnam War and the struggles he encounters, living in a time when tradition was paramount and self-discovery was unthinkable.
The years of the Vietnam War made up a pivotal time for our country. A time filled with diversity, conflict, change, hope and anger; not much unlike the times we live in now.
In an effort to honor and celebrate the dedication and sacrifice of U.S. service members, 50% of all box office proceeds (100% of box office proceeds on July 4th) will go directly to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization dedicated to the needs of injured service members and their families.Videos
