The new documentary 'Des McAnuff: A Life in Stages' is making its U.S. premiere this weekend at the San Diego Film Festival.

The film, based on the story of former La Jolla Playhouse Artistic Director Des McAnuff, is about one man on two journeys - one, the search for understanding of the father he never knew and the other, the creative zeal that defines his relentless passion for the world of musical theatre. Travel through the profound artistic experience that is Des McAnuff as he embarks to different festivals to launch the production of "Jersey Boys" in this thought provoking and humorous film.

Screenings will be held Saturday, October 2nd at 5:30 PM and Sunday, October 3rd at 1:00pm at the Gaslamp Theater.

Director Michael Savoie, producer Craig Thompson and Des McAnuff are scheduled to attend.
