Bent Not Broken Inspired to Tackle Mental Health in SOMETIMES IT SNOWS IN ATLANTA, 7/10-11

By:
East coast meets West coast in San Diego California as Bent Not Broken Inspired of southern California and Positive Scribe Productions of Atlanta, Georgia, call attention to mental health and cultural stigmas in the African American LGBTQ communities, through the mastery of theatre.

Producer/playwright Nosente A. Uhuti and Bent Not Broken Inspired, a non-profit Inland Empire community theatre artists collective, welcomes Simon and Schuster/Strebor Books national best-selling author and playwright, Laurinda D. Brown and Positive Scribe Productions to San Diego California.

Bent Not Broken Inspired presents the talented artists of Positive Scribe Production in "Sometimes It Snows in Atlanta". The powerful play boldly addresses mental health in both the African-American and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities. Homosexuality, mental illness, race, gender and socioeconomic pressures are common stigmas in our society. Sadly, these topics are considered taboo, especially in the African-American community, and often go unaddressed.

Nosente Uhuti and Laurinda D. Brown are a part of a growing nationwide network of African American LGBTQ artists who are committed to conscious creativity that is a mirror of empowerment. "Sometimes It Snows in Atlanta" is a riveting example of African American LGBTQ artistry and collaboration that breaks barriers while providing a phenomenal theatre experience.

Performances will be at the Historical Diversionary Theatre in San Diego, California performed by Positive Scribe Productions July 10th & 11th.

Special thanks to San Diego Pride 2015 for lending their support to moving the message of hope forward by including "Sometimes It Snows In Atlanta" in the 2015 activities. Bent Not Broken Inspired invites you to experience what happens when crazy becomes ordinary. Tickets are $25.00, $35.00 VIP available May 15th at the historic Diversionary Theatre or online at www.diversionary.org.

Due to mature subject matter, attendees must be 18 or older to enter. Learn more about Bent Not Broken Inspired Community Players visit www.bentnotbrokeninspired.com and /or Positive Scribe Productions, Inc. www.positivescribe.com.
