Following the release of his highly-anticipated album, "For Your Entertainment," San Diego native Adam Lambert yesterday dedicated his legendary, KISS inspired costume from the "American Idol" Season 8 Finale to Hard Rock Hotel San Diego's extensive rock memorabilia collection. Surrounded by his friends, family, and a legion of screaming fans, Lambert joined the ranks of Madonna, Elvis, and The Beatles by bestowing his most over-the-top costume to date to Hard Rock Hotel San Diego to be preserved for generations of fans to come.

"Adam is a hometown hero for us and his costume will be on display on the first floor of Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, among the likes of Madonna, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix," said Matt Greene, general manager at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. "The support for Adam is strong in San Diego and we are honored and privileged to have him here today."

Lambert donned the elaborate rocker outfit, complete with caged wings, during his performance with KISS band members on one of the most talked about finales in "American Idol's" history. During the red-carpet event, Lambert signed autographs, met with fans, and discussed the motivation behind his best-selling debut album, "For your Entertainment," which according to Billboard.com sold nearly 225,000 units in its first week.

"It's obviously quite an honor," said Adam Lambert during the special back carpet event. "I'm a new kid on the block, so I'm just excited to be asked. I hope people get a kick out of seeing it."

Adam Lambert earned a cult-following as first runner-up on the eight season of the FOX reality show "American Idol". Since the show's finale, Lambert has toured the country with the other top ten finalists and simultaneously worked on his debut album, "For Your Entertainment," which was released on Nov. 23 with the first single catapulting to number four on iTunes. Lambert characterizes the album as "a pop-rock record that pays homage to the great classic and glam rock of the '70s both vocally and melodically and some of the instrumentation feels like that, but it's produced sonically in a very modern current way."

Hard Rock Hotel San Diego's current display of memorabilia includes pieces from Elvis Presley, Madonna, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Roger Daltrey, Janis Joplin and Elton John and the hotel is very discretionary when acquiring new memorabilia. Proud of their hometown star and confident in his talent, longevity and future rock legend status, the hotel has carved out a prime location on the first floor of the property for the costume's home.
