Winner of the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, 'night, Mother is a 1983 play by Marsha Norman about a daughter, Jessie (Sara Larson), and her mother, Thelma (Sherrie Shirky). The play opens with Jessie calmly informing Mama that she plans to commit suicide that very evening. The plot unfolds as Jessie reveals her reasons for her decision, her life with Mama and how thoroughly she has planned her own death. The tension is unavoidable as Jesse and Mama race towards the play's disturbing climax.
The Woodlawn Theatre is San Antonio's historic community theatre, located in the heart of the Deco District at 1920 Fredericksburg Road, just south of Hildebrand. Free parking with security patrol is available.
