SAN ANTONIO (February 21, 2011) − The Majestic Theatre announces its 2011-2012 Cadillac Broadway in San Antonio Season of six stellar productions, including the San Antonio premiere of Billy Elliot the Musical, the new 25th anniversary production of legendary musical Les Mise?rables and the first U.S. theatrical tour of the Blue Man Group. In addition, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's high-Flying Musical Mary Poppins, the musical theatre classic Fiddler on the Roof, and the Broadway smash-hit production La Cage Aux Folles take the stage for this magical season.
"The 2011-2012 Season came together beautifully for us," Kirk B. Feldmann, Executive Director of Arts Center Enterprises, said. "We were thrilled that we were able to secure multi-week engagements of Mary Poppins and Billy Elliot, currently two of the hottest properties on Broadway, as well as three of our season ticket holders' most requested revivals, Les Mise?rables, Fiddler on the Roof, and La Cage Aux Folles. We saw Blue Man Group as the perfect alternative complement to the line-up."

Featuring an unforgettable score by Elton John, the 2009 Tony Award-winning Billy Elliot the Musical was called "the most inspiring show I've seen in years" by Ben Brantley of The New York Times. A feel-good celebration of one young boy's triumph against the odds, Billy Elliot enchants the dreamer in all of us. The London Times hails this Les Mise?rables as "a five star hit!" and E! Entertainment News exclaims, "Blue Man Group is what every live performance aspires to be."

The world's most famous nanny will arrive at the Majestic Theatre in the fall. The New York Post gives Mary Poppins 4 out of 4 stars, calling it "a perfect piece of musical theater." The Majestic Theatre is located at 224 E. Houston Street in the heart of downtown San Antonio, Texas. Built in 1929 by John Eberson for Interstate Theatres, the Majestic was intended to be the most modern building in South Texas and was the first in the state to be totally air-conditioned.
